I wanted to let you know about a couple of great food storage promotions going on right now!
The first is from Honeyville Grains. They are having a case lot sale – 20% off cases. We talked about placing an order for vital wheat gluten when we made bread. This is the time! Another great thing I have purchased from them in the past is the egg powder. It’s great for long term storage as well as just having on hand for when you realize you only have 2 eggs and your recipe calls for 4… If you are interested in ordering from Honeyville, go to their website (http://store.honeyvillegrain. com/), click on case lot sale and let me know what you are interested in. Hopefully between everyone ordering I will be able to get enough to order everything by the case. If you want something not in a case, I’m fine throwing that in and saving you the shipping. The sale goes through next Wednesday, so I’m asking that you get your orders to me by Sunday night. That way I have enough time to work out the order.
The other deal is from efoods (http://www.efoodsdirect.com/ patriot.aspx). This is where I got all my dehydrated food for our 72 hour kit. I love it because I don’t have to worry about switching the food out of my 72 hour kits for 30 years! If you do go with dehydrated food, be aware that you will need water to prepare it, so make sure you have a water source (filter, bottles) as well as some water to take with you. This deal is for a free patriot pack for every $329 that you spend. The patriot pack is really a basic 72 hour kit for a family – it includes a pot, stove, fuel, and 72 servings of food packaged for you in a grab and go bucket. They are also offering free shipping. The best way to work this would be to find another family or two and go in together on a larger order and split it. You could get 3 patriot packs for $380. Divide that by 3 and you have your basic 72 hour kit about $130. Get creative and look around and you may find even better deals. And you don’t have to replace it for 30 years! If you are interested in going in with someone let me know and I will try to get you all connected.
I will be putting together a big order from the bishop’s storehouse this fall, so be thinking about that as well.
Please let me know if you have any questions, or if there is anything I can do to help you with your emergency preparedness/food storage!
